Spring Break/Training Update

What's up Met fans, Willie here again. It was heartening to see that my fans had not forgotten me, thank you for all the comments! Even my cousin, Crazy Linda, came out to show her support!

Pitchers and catchers just reported, and it was nice to meet all the new faces. Chan Ho Park is the one I was most excited to meet. I loved him in Romeo Must Die and Kung Fu Hustle, and I couldn't wait to get his autograph. Since Omar invited about 75 pitchers to camp, we had to sign some extra catchers, starting with my old friend Sandy Alomar, Jr. I think Sandy will bring some much-needed youth to our team.

A lot of people have expressed concerns about our starting rotation this year. They're saying things like we have no solid pitchers, since Glavine and El Duque are both over 40, and everyone else is a question mark at best. I don't think ANYBODY can call Aaron Sele a question mark. If I had to compare Aaron to a punctuation mark, I would say without hesitation that he is a period, at the end of the sentence which has the subject "Aaron Sele" and the predicate "is awesome." He's that period. End of sentence.

To much fanfare, Lastings Milledge reported to camp today. I was really glad to catch up with him, and since we hadn't talked all winter, he had many questions for me. One of them was about the whereabouts of his infamous massive gold necklace. (Loyal readers will recall that I pawned said necklace for a fun night at the Carousel Club.) Fortunately, I had spent all winter thinking of an excuse. So I told him that the person who had stolen his necklace was none other than Steve Trachsel. I also told Lastings that Steve hates all minorities. Oh boy Steve, I hope you never get in a room with Lastings!!

Anyway, since I believe that Spring Training and Spring Break are synonymous, I've spent as much time boozing as I have paying attention to baseball. It's time for some Mets fan-itas to come over to the Willie suite. Later playas!
